I moved to South Windsor in 1988 and was thrilled when the town set up Nevers Park Walking Trail.  Since that time I have been there many times.  It is so great to have the park close by.  In a few minutes, I can take a walk or run away from the busy roads.  It seems to be a pretty well kept secret because I find that it is usually is not very crowded.  Depending on what kind of time I have, I can choose the length of trail I want to take since there are a couple of routes to pick from.  The longest loop is about 1.5 miles and on many occasions I’ve gone around twice.

The trails are lovely.  I usually begin taking the small paved hill up Sand Hill Rd.  For dog owners,  there is a great dog park at the top of the hill, a/k/a the bark park.  Although I’m not an owner, I love animals and think it is great that the town accommodates pet owners.  Walking along the huge open field on the left I can appreciate the rural feel that still remains in South Windsor.  I know steps have been taken to preserve many of the wooded areas in town.  There’s a nice stretch of path winding through woods accented with ponds along the way.  Benches and various strength training apparatus are intermittently found to either step down or step up your experience.

South Windsor is a great place to call home so if you are considering making South Windsor your home you might consider this 3 bedroom 3 bath ranch condo located directly across from Nevers Park.  Located at Plum Ridge these are some of the nicest condo's in town.  No more spending your time mowing the lawn or shoveling just go sit by the pool or take a nice walk across the street at Nevers Park walking trails.
